Game Time: Shoes by Richard Braqo

Have you ever seen a shoe and said to yourself: “I like that shoe.”, no, “I want that shoe”, better yet, “I need that shoe” and finally, “I gotta have that shoe!”. Well I just came across one of those, rather, several of those kinds of shoes.

Ghanian designer Richard Braqo will be officially launching his shoe line this Fall and I cam across some of the shoes that will be in the line-up. I died and went to shoe heaven. See for yourself ladies.

Braqo first came to our attention for his award-winning collaborations with Cesare Paciotti. No wonder, as he’s a bit of a prodigy — hailing from Ghana, Braqo (born Richard Kwame Brako) moved to NYC at 18 and studied at Parsons, before going on to work with the likes of Ikram Goldman, Acne Studios, and Helmut Lang. Oh, and his own custom creations are a favorite of Rihanna

Designing for next-level, luxe shoe lovers — including those of you with fine Italian artisan requirements — expect a sophisticated color palette of sapphire, moss, and cobalt. Though we all know a collection isn’t complete without a typical black and gold style, too, we’re not expecting anything ‘typical’ about it — didn’t you hear him, “pearled spear…

Adriana Karembeu Presents ‘Pikolino’ Shoes

I came accross this shoe designer from Madrid, Spain who debut his new shoe collection with the help of model Adriana Karembeu. He’s known for creating innovative footwear with European style and artisan craftmanship using environmentally friendly material.

What I didn’t understand about this marketing strategy is why they used a Maasai Moran but didn’t have him wearing one their very own collection 😦

Anywho, those who love to let their toes out in the summer for some breeze, below are more sandals from their collection. They are available at Nordstrom.

Celebs love Christian Louboutins

Jennifer Hudson is making her rounds promoting her new album Remember Me. The super-svelte singer stood tall on the N.Y.C. set of 106 & Park in a short, long-sleeved black number with the infamous sky-high Christian Louboutin Daffodil pumps .They retail a whopping $ 1,195.00 for those who are interested :-).

Look at the look on the girl in the background’s face, P-R-I-C-E-L-E-S-S.

Below are other celebs rocking a similar pair.

Designer shoes for less

I LOVE shoes with all my heart but my bank account does not play along when it comes to the shoe game, that explains why I’m always shopping around for bargains. The fact that you shop around for bargains, does not mean going for lower quality shoes though, it’s about finding something (of good quality) that’s almost identical to what your heart desires but bank account declines.

I love Sergio Rossi but they are on the high-end price-wise. I just came across these shoes at Dillard’s that are a mirror image of Sergio Ross pumps at a friendly price.

(L) Sam Edelman $99.99 VS (R)Sergio Rossi $695.00

Closet Essentials:Shoes,Shoes & More Shoes

Shoes are a basic necessity we all can’t live without. Did you know that we only need 4 simple types of shoes that can be paired perfectly with any kind of lifestyle and wardrobe?

There’s the Formal shoe which is the dressiest shoe for special occasions. These entail a few pairs of neutral colored heels that are comfortable and that can go with a variety of outfits. You can never go wrong with red, black, blue or metallic colors like gold or silver. These easily compliment bright colors and pop when paired with dark colors too.Its all about versatility.

Secondly, there’s the casual shoe e.g ballet flats. These can be rocked anywhere and with everything e.g.dresses, pants, skirts, jeans or shorts. Go for neutral colors like black and/or brown because these compliment majority of other colors.

Thirdly, there’s the sandal. I believe this one speaks for itself. Just ensure your toe nails are on point 🙂

Lastly, there’s the Athletic shoe for those who prefer to rock sneakers with their jeans instead of sandals, or for those who workout or just want to be comfortable.
