Jennifer Lopez

I just had to re-post an article on JLo because she amazes me every time I see her pics or spreads. At 41, she has the best legs in the business, has earned her status as a beauty icon and has been voted PEOPLE’s 2011 Most Beautiful Person in the World.

The ever glamor girl never shys away from fashion trends and tastefully shows off her curves and gams in daring fashion choices.

Venus’s global ambassador shows off her gams in a sequined mini, which she pairs with a nude blouse and towering Christian Louboutin platforms.

Rihanna Covers FHM Magazine

Rebel Rihanna is sizzling hot on the cover of the May issue of Australia’s FHM Magazine . The weirdest part is that the cover photo and the spreads within this FHM magazine are the same images that were used by British GQ Magazine late last year.

Here FHM used this image for the cover while GQ used it as a spread.

Rihanna Performs @ American Idol

The fire engine red-headed songstress draped her curves in a velvety tea rose Carlos Miele gown for the live taping of American Idol.Keeping us guessing as usual, the red head changed it up on us and went long and wavy for the performance.

She snapped a pic with Jennifer Lopez who’s just been crowned as the “Most Beautiful Person in the World” by People Magazine.

JLo’s body, dress and shoes are so on point. She always looks perfectly put together!

Toya Carter covers Rolling Out Magazine

In an attempt to step out of Lil Wayne’s shadow and build a name for herself, Toya Carter has been indulging in lots of projects. She had a reality show with Tiny (T.I’s wife) and recently celebrated the series premiere of her new reality TV show ‘Toya: A Family Affair’ .

She’s been gracing lots of magazine covers lately and discussing her personal life in an attempt to share with us her tragedies and triumphs in life.

Hilary Duff in Black

Just as I was working on my black addiction, Hilary Duff comes bearing an all black ensemble that I could not keep me my eyes off of.

The Disney Star embodied elegance in a black tank and a pair of black wide-legged pants and a metallic belt to break the monotony.

Her only accessories; simple studs and an over-sized clutch. My eyes couldn’t have asked for more.

What do you think of her look?

Heidi Klum in a Peek-a-Boo Jumpsuit

Super-mom/Supermodel/ Super Mogul Heidi Klum showed up at a gala in Santa Monica CA rocking a brown peek-a-boo scarf neck Michael Kors jumpsuit with a matching belt. She let the light shine on the outfit by wearing minimal make-up and a sleek pony tail.

Even though the jumpsuit looked sophisticated and trendy on her, I’d be afraid to rock this because it looked like a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen. I guess she had to really watch every single move she made. I’d even be afraid to breathe. But then again, I ain’t no Heidi :-).

What do you think about the ensemble?

E-V-E

Eve was spotted in NYC where she was attending Good Housekeeping’s “Shine On” Awards honoring remarkable women. She looked spectacular but I must say she is loosing her swag. The good-old-days Eve had a lot more going on for her than this right here. See for yourselves……………….

Love the flawless make up and the bangs

Eve looked white hot in this one of a kind gorgeous sheath is by a designer called Jitrois. She accentuated the dress with sparkling jewelery.

For a similar look, head to Realm Boutique in NYC or online at http://www.realmboutique.com. The style is: atlantic + 10 leather dress and will set you back a whopping $ 3,825.

8th Annual New Yorkers For Children Dinner Dance

Celebrities got fab for the 8th Annual New Yorkers For Children Dinner dance. Attendees included gorgeous actress Kerry Washington, clothing designer Rachel Roy, models Selita Ebanks and Jessica White among others. There were lots of bright colored ensembles on the carpet with no specific trend in site. There were long gowns, suits, sheaths, you name it but bottom line; they all looked fabulous for a good cause 🙂

Selita Ebanks was breathtaking in this red number vavavoooooooooooooom

Model Jessica White also went for the floor-length gown and she killed it!

Keeping up with Kim

Kim was recently snapped rocking a pair of shredded jeans and a white button-down shirt, but she didn’t just stop there. The rest of her ensemble kind of threw me off because it’s not the norm.

Usually, the belt is supposed to match the shoes, but in her case, she wore a brown Hermes belt with black shoes. Instead of matching her belt to her shoes, she opted to match it up with a tan hat , then matched her black shoes to her black bag.

Per her blog, she as trying to create a “smart yet casual” daytime look.

No need to try Kim K, you R-O-C-K-E-D it!

I love this chic’s style. Kudos to her stylist, she is sure getting her money’s worth.

Red Cross Red Tie Affair

The American Red Cross held its annual Red Tie Affair in CA and of course the stars dazzled on the red carpet. The obvious trend of the night was fire-engine red gowns, sheaths, blazers, ties & shirts.

The goal was to raise more money for the American Red Cross and to honor those who’ve supported and continue to support the non-profit organization.

Below are images of the attendees on the red carpet.

Spring’s Hottest Trend: Jumpsuits

Jumpsuits and rompers are on the rise again this season. The best part about it is that they are very easy to accessorize or accentuate and there are so many kinds for different body types. These range from formal and conservative to casual and sexy. You can go for body-hugging or loose-fitting depending on the occasion or your preference.

Jumpsuits come in solid colors or prints. If you were to rock a solid color, break the monotony with a colored belt or simply accentuate it with statement accessories like a necklace or bangles. You can also dress it down with a blazer or cardigan. On the other hand, jumpsuits or rompers with prints need to be kept as simple as possible.

As for the shoes, long jumpsuits look better with flats while cropped jumpsuits and rompers look fly with heels as they lengthen your legs.

Below is a collection of jumpsuit and romper ideas:

Most of these trends are available at Forever XX1 at affordable prices.

ELLE’S 2nd Annual Women In Music Event Arrivals

Stars put their best foot forward as they hit the carpet to attend the 2nd Annual ELLE’S Women in Music event. Jordin Sparks wore her weightloss well and strutted her new figure in a pretty purple dress. I must admit she was on point! Solange on the other hand went for a 70s look-not really feeling her look though. Checkout some of the arrivals.Jordin Sparks looked pretty in purple with a hint of animal print, love the ensemble.

Now this is what I call color coordination at its best. My new rule; do NOT be afraid of colors.

Jennifer Hudson Performs in Barbados

Jennifer Hudson was in Barbados to perform and promote her new album. Music aside, she highlighted her  toned legs and arms in a hot itsy bitty A-line mini skirt with a colorful top and a cinched waist, heated up with cute brown wedges. I’m loving her new fashion trend.

Feel free to follow her lead and adapt spring/summer’s A-line short skirts.

How to Wear Short Dresses

Gas prices and temperature are not the only things that are rising this summer. Along with them come the hem lines too. It’s that time of the year again when ladies get to bear it all out, but how much is too much or how short is too short in this case? Well, the answer depends on the wearer of the garment.

Celebrities are often spotted in very short dresses and they have killer bodies to go with it. They are paid to look the way they look and have fitness trainers to help along the way. What about the ordinary man? Well there are a couple of recommendations for us:

If you were to rock a dress this short, avoid skin-tight short dresses and go for styles that have more of a modern A-line shape.

If your legs don’t look as great or if you are just more reserved, no need to worry, you can accentuate it with pantyhose, tights,or leggings and heels or you can opt for simple flats. Comfort, confidence and boldness are the key.

Also, when it comes to short dresses, go for fabrics that drape well. The last thing you need is a fabric that will have you pulling it down with every step you make.

Go for body-type & age-appropriate length. Decide how short you want to go, it’s all about how comfortable you’ll be in it. The best way to tell is by trying it on before you wear it out. Just like test-driving a car, try walking, sitting, bending over or even standing up in it. If it’s a no-no in any of these tasks then you already know that it will not work.

Who Rocked It?

Many a times, celebrities step out rocking identical outfits. Some keep it simple while others glam it up. That very outfit may end up in the best dressed list while others may send it straight to the worst-dressed list. What do you think of the celebs below?

KIM VS ESMEE

Kim opted to wear this sexy dress to dinner , while Esmee attended an event in it. Both ladies went for lengthy blazers. Esmee accentuated the dress with a mohawk and barely-there make up while Kim opted for a simple pony tail and a more natural look.

KELLY VS GABRIELLE

R & B singer Kelly Rowland and actress Gabrielle Union look elegant in this Nicole Miller one-shoulder jumpsuit. Good style is as simple as black for these gorgeous ladies but Kelly opted to kick it up a notch by adding chandelier earrings and a short crop, while Gabby spotted loose shoulder-length curls.

So who R-O-C-K-E-D it?

Blake Lively

I’ve been watching this chic’s style closely for a while now and all I can say is she never disappoints. Always on point and at the top of her game whether she’s on the set of her CW Drama Gossip Girl or going about her daily life.

She  knows how to brighten up red carpets and gets pulses racing in whatever she wears. I love that she knows her body type well enough to rock what goes with it. We always try to blindly mirror others and end up with fashion flaws, mishaps or malfunctions, all because what looks good on one may not look good on us because we have different body types. Did I mention that she is the new face of Chanel?

Spring 2011 Trend:Tribal Prints

There’s a new trend that is growing among celebrities at an alarming rate and I’m digging it, mainly because it’s a print close to home. Most have been getting their tribal vibe on as they hit the road or award shows or as they go about their daily lives.

Who is behind this growing trend in the U.S? Well, I went on a browsing spree and realized that majority of these designs are by a Brooklyn native designer Maya Lake. Her designs were specifically inspired by elements within the political and cultural climate of the Civil Rights Movement. To find out more about Maya and view her collection, go to http://www.boxingkitten.com.

Other than Maya, Gwen Stefani has followed suit and based some of her Fall/Spring 2011 collection on tribal prints too. I have some images of her rocking some designs from her own clothing line L.A.M.B.

“Braxton Family Values” Premier Party in LA

Looks like Toni Braxton has joined the “air-your-dirty-laundry-in-public” bandwagon and has brought her family along for the ride. The Braxton sisters and their mom have a new reality show on WE tv titled “Braxton Family Values” in which cameras follow them around as they go about their daily lives.

The Braxtons hosted a premier party in Hollywood to celebrate their new show. In attendance were Gabrielle Union,Michael J.White, Toya Carter among others. I caught a sneak peek of the reality show and I kind of liked it, so might be watching, hopefully it’s not full of foolywang material like the others.

Toni braxton looked amazing as usual in her body hugging dress and YSL heels but there was something out-of-place in her face. I can’t put a finger on what it is but all I can say is that she looks different.

There are mixed reviews online about this dress but I LOVE it, gotta google it because I gotta have it!

Like the Kardashians, I just realized that their names begin with a “T” and their mom looks good for her age.

Gwen Stefani covers Elle Magazine

Gwen Stefani graced the cover of May issue of Elle Magazine. I must say she looks amazing for a mother of two young kids. I am a big fan of No Doubt and I can’t wait for them to get back in the studio and drop some hits and show these new-comers how it’s done.

Checkout the cover image plus one of the images from the spread. I love the Givenchy dress she is rocking in this first pic.
