Color coordinating clothes is an easy process as long as you know how to streamline the process. Many people, me included, like to play it safe with black and/or white to avoid taking the extra mile to put together colored pieces. It’s time to get out of that comfort level and dare to wear a variety of colors.
There are some few simple steps that can help you quickly and easily coordinate your clothes.
- Build your foundation using neutral colors e.g black, navy blue, green, grey or brown. These can apply to the pants, skirts or shorts.
- Add vibrant colors to your neutral pieces. This is the time to add colors that will make the neutral colors pop. You can top off a black skirt/pants with a red/pink top or a yellow blouse to brown pants e.t.c
- Lastly, accentuate your colors with matching accessories. These add layers of color to your existing coordinated colors and helps bring out your personality.
Use colors that work with your skin tone and hair color. While you should feel free to be adventurous, some colors will clash with bold hair colors and some skin tones.
I was able to find a perfect example of color coordination from a shoot that featured Keshia Knight Pullman.
